KASM joins the 2precious2mine coalition
With Energy Minister Gerry Brownlee's proposal to mine schedule 4 areas of the conservation estate mining, the downstream consequences became a subject discussed by many New Zealanders.
The possibility that mining in our National Parks could be a reality provoked a strong reaction from across the political spectrum.
The recent KASM AGM unanimously supported that KASM join the 2precious2mine coalition with Vera van der Voorden being the KASM representative
KASM has concern of the possibility that maritime reserves will also be the subject of miners interests.
